04/11/1981      ? p.m.                 Marilyn Smartt asks Sue if she would like to go to the Keddie Bar with Marty and Bo, and presumably Marilyn

04/11/1981      ? p.m.                 Martin Smartt (Marty) and John Boubede (Bo) go to Keddie bar.  Was Marilyn there with them?

04/11/1981      9:30ish p.m.        John & Dana hitch hiked from Oakland Camp to Keddie

04/11/1981      9:30 p.m. Onward        Murders take place

04/12/1981      1:00-2:00 a.m.   Marilyn Smartt sees Marty Smartt burning something in the wood stove

04/12/1981      7:00 a.m.           Shiela returns home from neighbors to discover horror.  Sheila sees dead bodies and a knife she thinks is a pocket knife that turns out to be a “bent” knife.

04/12/1981      ?7:10ish a.m.      Neighbor calls Plumas County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD)

04/12/1981      ?7:20ish a.m.     First Deputies arrive on scene, younger Sharp children removed from scene, along with Justin.  So all three boys in the back bedroom at this time.

04/12/1981      All Day             Crime scene cordoned off, investigation begins, neighbors and friends questioned?  Justin questioned.  Justin insists Tina is missing.  Determine that wires used to bound bodies were taken from the room shared by Sue/Sheila/Tina.

                                                Boys found on floor, Sue laying on couch.

                                                Henry Thompson and Chuck Walkee questioned by PCSD, released shortly thereafter.

04/12/1981      A.M.                 Determined Tina was in Cabin 28 and is now missing, along with “shoebox” that was Tina’s school project?  The shoebox was apparently taken from the kitchen.

04/12/1981      10:00 a.m.         Mr. Doris receives call to identify body.

04/12/1981      Unknown           Marty Smartt goes to Reno?

04/12/1981      5:00/6:00 p.m.      Marty Smartt at Meeks’ house, wanting to go back to Keddie.  Mrs. Meeks believe Marty is high on something.

04/12/1981      9:00 p.m.           Mrs. Meeks talks Marty into staying at the house and not returning to Keddie.

04/13/1981      4:00 a.m.           Marty leaves Meeks home and presumably returns to Keddie

04/13/1981      Unknown           Marilyn Smartt questioned?

                                               Smartt cabin searched, Clubhouse searched

                                                Tina’s jacket found? Justin’s shoes taken for evidence?

04/14/1981      Unknown           Justin telling his brother about the crime and demonstrating how to stab.  Justin says “I have to protect Sue.” Marty grabs Justin and tells him never to talk about it again.

Unknown                                   Justin under hypnosis.  Describes watching Love Boat, describes the “fight.”  States Sue “thrown overboard.”  Provides description of suspects.

                                                Both men wear glasses.  One has long hair and moustache, the other has shorter hair and no facial hair.

Unknown Dates                          Martin Smartt and John Boudee (Bo) picked up for questioning

                                                PCSD searches Smartt cabin and small outbuilding.  A jacket, believed to belong to Tina, was found “under the house.”  The jacket had blood on it.

                                                PCSD meets Marilyn at the “clubhouse” (small outbuilding near Smartt house).  Marilyn notices that the floorboards have been torn up.  Marilyn says the floorboards were not that way when she was there on the previous weekend.

1984                                         Tina’s remains found at Feather Falls, in the Feather River Canyon.  Approximately 50 miles from Keddie.

1997                Unknown            PCSD tells Sheila Sharp that Marty is dead.

2002                                        Martin Smartt died.

2002                                        Memorial service for Tina.  Placement of headstone.

Summer 2004                            Cabin 28 destroyed.

Notes from PCSD Timeline Presented in the Cabin 28 Film

                        “One sketch looks like John Sessions or Wade Dale Meeks, both go to FRC.” (Not sure who said this as the name does not appear in the film)

                        “Terry? Alger said that he knew that Martin Smartt and another guy who he (Alger) didn’t know had done the murders.”  Alger also said it was because of a big dope deal and someone was at the wrong place.”

                        “Bo” tells Marilyn Smartt that wouldn’t bother him to kill a child or a broad, states Marilyn.”

                        Dale W. Meeks was being booked at the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office.  Inmate Martin R. Smartt observed Meeks and began yelling at Meeks about dope and Smartt stated that “you know I got her, Meeks, and I’m going to get you in the same way.”

This information from Marilyn - Smartt arrested for knife fight, when he was released he was told to get out of town.  Marilyn’s daughter was terrified of Martin Smartt.  Daughter received a call in Oregon the night after the murders and told she would be next if she did not keep her mouth shut.

                        Several months after the murders, Marilyn received a post card saying Bo was dead. (approximately late 1981/early 1982?).
